Dr Allen Kabagenyi

Biography

Dr Allen Kabagenyi is a senior demographer and the current Head of the Department of Population Studies at the School of Statistics and Planning, Makerere University. She has over 10 years of experience in teaching, research, and training in demography and reproductive health. Her research focuses on maternal and child health, family planning, fertility, and demographic dividend.  She has skills in applied statistics, focusing on the complexities of survey methodology, training, and the analysis of survey data. Dr Kabagenyi has presented at international conferences and published widely in peer-reviewed journals. She is a fellow of the Uganda National Academy of Sciences (FUNAS), a Leslie KISH fellow of the sampling programme for the survey statisticians at the University of Michigan, US, and a Population Reference Bureau communications policy fellow. Allen recently received the Makerere University Vice Chancellor's Research Excellence Award.
